The boyfriend was found with a knife wound to his stomach and the woman was found running away from the house.

Fart Leads to Assault Charges in Greeley

If this woman from the case above had committed this offense in Greeley, Johnstown or Erie, Colorado, she would have been charged with Assault – Domestic Violence. The level of injury her boyfriend sustained, decides what degree of Assault – C.R.S 18-3-201 – she would be charged with. Because she used a deadly weapon (a knife), the district attorney would consider First Degree Assault or Second Degree Assault.

If the doctors treating the boyfriend decide he suffered serious bodily injury, the decision would be made to charge First Degree Assault. If he was treated for non-serious bodily injury, Second Degree Assault would be the charge. A knife wound would generally be charged as 1st Degree Assault.
